The Future of Agile Leadership
/ 1 Year Retrospective

Featured Topic:

"We believe Agile software development is being dumbed down, commodified, and is losing its spirit" (ARXTA.net).  Agile has been attracting challenges like this lately.  Is there a problem?  Are we part of the problem?  Can we be part of the solution?

First, we'll challenge the present state of Agile by watching the video of Brian Marick's presentation Artisanal Retro-Futurism and Team-Scale Anarcho-Syndicalism. Hopefully shaken up a bit, we will then break into multiple OpenSpace rounds to answer the question: "How can APLN Chicago help?"

Lead-in Activity:

As always, the first half-hour of the event is reserved for networking and food. Pizza and pop will be provided, so come hungry, grab a couple slices of pizza, and get to know the other attendees who are making Agile Leadership happen in Chicago.

Follow-up Activity: "OpenSpace"

Following the talk, attendees will take part in an OpenSpace discussion forum.  At least one topic will expand on the Featured Topic presentation, but attendees are free to propose any topic for discussion.  An OpenSpace session is a high-energy experience:  more structured than chit-chat, less rigid than following an agenda.
